About me

Name: Peter Ott

Geographic location: Mobile Alabama

Technology Preference:
General: I do not have use for many of the technological innovations we see in society today. I do not have a social media platform other than “wordpress.com” which I must maintain for my graduate studies. My colleagues are surprised to learn I do not carry my phone with me. My phone has only one app and that was mandated by my insurance company for tracking my driving habits to meet requirements for a reduction in insurance premiums. My laptops primary purpose and function is utilized, again, for my graduate studies. I do however, explore “youtube” from time to time.

Teaching context: The technologies I have incorporated in teaching are video lectures, electronic devices used to simulate test equipment and situation scenarios supporting course content. White boards, laminated wiring diagrams and blueprints, highlighters, printed technical publications are not electronic or embedded in social medium apps but are examples of technology nonetheless.

Personal information: Having lived a life of service, first to my country in the Marine Corps, then serving my community as a first responder and now as an educator I am following a path guided by Jesus Christ as a graduate student at Liberty University. Through this blog I will address the social, political and spiritual issues confronting our miss guided nation. I cannot accomplish anything on my own. As a steward of Christ with a biblical worldview, with help from my fellow Christians, none believers and the ever present guiding hand of God, together we can lead our communities and society as a whole to a more purposeful life contributing to the betterment of each and every one of us.
